Full day kayak & walk combo. Highlights include walking a beautiful section of the Coastal Track and kayaking in the sheltered waters of the Astrolabe. Visit golden beaches and listen to the birdsong as you paddle past Adele Island.

    You will pass several off-shore islands which provide a protected habitat for native wildlife. This stretch of water is called the Astrolabe Roadstead named by Dumont Durville. Roadstead was a term early seafarers used to describe safe sheltered waters.

  • 2 Walk from Torrent Bay to Bark Bay

    The section of track between Bark Bay & Torrent Bay is the most walked on this coast. From Bark Bay to Torrent Bay takes about 2.5 hrs and is 7.8kms. This section has some beautiful stands of large trees including Rimu, Totara and Rata. You pass through Torrent Bay settlement, this is the largest public settlement in the Park, it is mostly holiday homes.
